To view the PPS or PPT slideshows that people send attached to emails, you need PowerPoint Viewer. The slideshows were created in Microsoft's PowerPoint software.
Note that PowerPoint is a program that can run scripts on your computer while you view the pretty pictures... therefore it is IMPORTANT that you know WHO created the PowerPoint Presentation and whether or not they included any File commands in the presentation.
For instance, it is possible to place software onto your hard drive... or it is possible to delete everything off your C: Drive. It is common for a Hacker to create a pretty slideshow... and while it's playing it would place some Identity Theft software onto your computer that would capture your LoginID when you visit your Bank's website.
So again... if you don't know the person who created the PowerPoint Presentation, my suggestion is to pass it by.
